Here\u2019s the challenge I was facing: write a Friday blog so good that I\u2019d be deified. \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I read some of my old ones, and I admit they weren\u2019t even on that kind of level. \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Not even on the radar. \u00a0 Looking for new material, I jumped in my racecar. \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I went too fast, it was all a blur, so I traded it for a Honda Civic. \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nope, driving around didn\u2019t help, so I hopped in a kayak. \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I got so tired I had to come home and slam back a cup of coffee as a reviver. \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It didn\u2019t help, so I asked my wife, \u201cPlease, won\u2019t you help me, Madam?\u201d \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
No luck, she sent me to my office, and I slammed the door, as a sort of redivider. \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I looked on my computer, looking for anything to which my creativity might refer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I looked up sports stats. \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I checked the news, current events, \u201cthis day in history\u201d\u2026my head spinning like a rotor. \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I considered calling my mom. \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I called Bob. \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I tried Eve. \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
But then I saw it, right on my task bar, that date: 12.2.21 \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
That means yesterday was 12.1.21 \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tomorrow will be 12.3.21 \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And there will another one after that, YAY! \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In fact we get nine consecutive days with palindrome dates, WOW! \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s palindromes for everyone, from Akasaka\u2026 \u00a0 \u2026to Wassamassaw!! \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Palindromes for flamenco dancer Sara Baras. \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Palindromes for ABBA. \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And what a great time to buy some Finnish soapstone from Saippuakivikauppias!! \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And so, as we pass through palindromes towards the New Year, I have to ask, \u201cAre we not drawn onward – we few – drawn onward to new era?\u201d \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Are we not, Anna-Susanna? \u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yes we are. Holy Hannah!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So go ahead, read those sagas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Play those epic guitar solos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eat lunch at noon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
